For anyone who has practised an existing technique consistently for at least 12 months, it is recommended that they obtain an Advanced Technique. In Vedic Meditation, an Advanced Technique is designed to take one’s awareness to that stratum, that layer of consciousness, that comprises the interface between thinking and pure silent consciousness. In short, it allows the meditator to integrate that elusive, deeply charming state that we slip into in our deepest meditations, into every moment of our awakened state. A good example of how and Advanced Technique supports us in our evolution is a car shifting from a low gear to a higher gear to gain speed. We can get where we need to go in first gear, but it will take much longer than if we shifted to a higher gear.
An Advanced Technique may involve a student learning a more advanced version of their existing mantra, or it may involve learning a more advanced method of using the mantra they have already received. The Advanced Technique is customized by Yashoda for each meditator based on their needs and state of Consciousness.
These techniques are given any time that An Introduction to Meditation is taught. To obtain an Advanced Technique, a meditator will attend the first day of Introduction to Mediation class, and will bring the traditional offerings for a new initiation ceremony. The student will sit in with the class on the first day after receiving the new mantra, and must return to at least one more class that week so that Thom can check the usage of the mantra and provide the advanced student further coaching
Upon request, Yashoda may also be able to give Advanced Techniques at a retreat, or at any class where Yashoda is present with the meditator, so long as the meditator will have time to visit with Yashoda on two separate occasions – first to receive their advanced mantra, and a second time for Yashoda to check their mantra and offer further coaching.
An Advanced Technique may also be given during a private, 90 minute session with Yashoda.
In order to receive an Advanced Technique, a meditator must have been trained in Vedic Meditation and practicing consistently for at least one year. A meditator who has already received an Advanced Technique and would like to receive another should have been meditating consistently with their last advanced mantra for at least a year.
Course fee for Advanced Techniques is the same sliding scale as first initiation.
Advance Techniques are offered whenever An Introduction to Meditation is taught. An Introduction to Meditation is offered at various times throughout the year.

Exploring The Veda
The Veda is the ancient record of spiritual experience that is the source of the arts and sciences of Ayurvedic medicine, yoga, meditation, and the whole of Indian philosophy. Knowledge of the Veda is said to confer mastery of all the laws of nature, because the Veda is structured as universal knowledge available within everyone’s consciousness – it is the blueprint of creation.
Thom Knoles is recognized as one of the world’s foremost teachers of the Veda’s true meaning and application. In a six-seminar course of 78 hours recorded over a 2 year period, Thom delves deeply into the Veda and draws out pearls of wisdom that are nothing short of life-changing. Students of Exploring the Veda learn techniques for deepening meditation, for correcting the mistakes of the mind and heart, and for manifesting the life experiences that reveal true fulfillment.
Exploring the Veda is a prerequisite for Initiator Teacher Training.
Exploring the Veda I is a prerequisite for II.
This course is made up of 7 classes, and the classes must be taken in order. The classes are held on evenings and weekends in six 10 – 16 hour seminars, usually Friday evening, and Saturday and Sunday during the day. They are conducted in a “semi-retreat” format, which means that students come together with an Initiator serving as the teacher and facilitator, listen to the lectures, then have a Q&A session with the class members and the Initiator/Teacher. Each course includes healthy vegetarian meals.
This course starts several times throughout the year, in various locations, with the classes offered in order (we call this a “track”). Students are strongly encouraged to start a “track” and take all classes in order, but if you must skip a class due to scheduling requirements, you can most likely make up the class by sitting in on another Teacher’s “track”. Your commitment would not be to the entire series, rather to each individual seminar. The basis for moving to the next level is contingent on feeling naturally inspired to do so.
The complete Exploring the Veda program consists of six installments. Each installment is conducted in a non-residential setting over a weekend in the following format:
Friday – 7.00pm to 9.30pm
Saturday – 10.00am to 6.30pm
Sunday – 10.00am to 6.30pm
Each of the seminars can be enjoyed individually, with no obligation to complete all six. However the course must be completed in sequential order as one seminar leads naturally into the next.
Completion of Exploring the Veda installments 1-6 is a prerequisite to become trained as an Initiator - a teacher of Vedic Meditation.

Mastering the Siddhis
Twenty-seven centuries ago, Patanjali, the great Seer (maharishi) of Vedic meditation, cognized his masterpiece, The Yoga Sutras. Very few masters have fathomed the truth of Patanjali's teaching and consequently it faded into obscurity until recent times.
A ‘sutra’ is a consciousness formula. It’s also where we get the English word ‘suture’ from, meaning a stitch. ‘Yoga’ is the experience of the unity of one's individual mind with the cosmic mind. Therefore the Yoga Sutras are powerful techniques for stitching the individual mind to the cosmic mind. This results in achieving the height of human potential and mastery of the laws of nature.
A 'siddhi' is an extraordinary human power. This course develops the siddhis within your own consciousness and gives you the ability to interact with and master the laws of nature. It's also a powerful way of mastering manifestation. Once mastered, the siddhis are considered to be the most powerful advanced technique in a meditator's repertoire.
Prerequisites: This course is exclusively for advanced Vedic meditators. The prerequisites for Mastering the Siddhis is completion of installments 1-6 of Exploring the Veda.
The Mastering the Siddhis course is taught in six installments. The first five installments consist of approximately seven and a half hours of training each and comprise a series of recorded instructions and lectures by Thom Knoles. The 6th installment is taught in a retreat setting.
Each of the installments will give you a new practice with enormous lifelong benefit and can be enjoyed without the necessity to complete all 6 installments. However the course must be completed in sequential order as one installment leads naturally into the next.
Installments 1 to 5 are conducted over one weekend each.
Installments 1-5 upfront --- $5000
OR $1100 per installment
Installment 6 taught on retreat (TBA)
